Tina - Fantastic Children by FireLilyCosplay Tina - Fantastic Children by FireLilyCosplay
Photographer: David Dunn
**This costume has been sold!

I had heard about Fantastic Children long before I watched it. The story was said to be amazing, although I didn't know much more about it than that. So I finally sat down and started watching it, and it really is an amazing story! The plight of poor Helga and her strange memories of a landscape she's never seen gives way to a tale of a princess whisked away from her home world. The princess, Tina, lives on a far away planet known as Grecia, a planet covered with water. Strange happenings befall her and force the royal scientists to send her soul to Earth, where she is caught up in the karmic cycle of birth and rebirth, being reincarnated over hundreds of years until the scientists can find her and send her soul back to Grecia.

The story itself is truly fascinating, but Tina's dress is just as fantastic! The beautiful colors and delicate details are incredibly appealing. I truly love this costume. I feel so elegant while wearing it, and it makes me look like I'm floating around ^.^ I'm so glad I can share my love of this show through my costuming - I hope I can get more people to watch it!

You sure got my attention.
Have it on my list of "To watch"... And I shall ensure to do that soon. Got pretty curious (Wasn't a spoiler I hope btw"

You DO look gracious and elegant in the outfit. I can picture how you must be feeling yourself wearing it.

I am so truly enjoying your "comments"... Thank you not only for sharing such beautiful imagery, but also from sparing the time to write such informative comments over the costumes; their making or their backgrounds (If not all three).

Watched the first five episodes yesterday with my son. He fell asleep so I had to stop it and wait for it to be a father son activity as most our anim-watching's.

I have to say that it presented much greater story than what the imagery had suggested (Sort of reminds me of the Shaman Kings in that area... the best anim series in my book. You HAVE to tolerate the first few episodes and then you get addicted to it's unique stories and story telling. I had discarded it at first as to be another of the infamous pokemon 'fight each other with your not so cheap to buy playing cards' anim... But I was proven very wrong)... And the story is seriously just building up and up... it just gets thicker by the minute and still presents very few answers.
I am seriously loving it and thanking you while watching (Watch it your in our lives periodically now until it's over :o)

Any other heads up or favorites?
Wait best I stop spamming it here. I'll send a note first chance.

Ps: I am presuming that the princess is Helga... but at the moment she is REALLY annoying me. I hope for her sake that she starts getting off her arse some time soon. Gosh reminds me of SO many people that have entered my life! :(

Favorites, huh? Fushigi Yugi, FullMetal Alchemist, Orphen, Wolf's Rain, Samurai Champloo, Cardcaptor Sakura, Robotech, Elfen Lied, Read or Die, Kurogane Peacemaker, Fate/Stay Night, Honey & Clover, KURAU Phantom Memory, RahXephon, Tsubasa Chronicle, Berserk, Heroic Age, Gankutsuou, Mononoke/Ayakashi, Darker than Black, The Third, El Cazador de la Bruja, Ayashi no Ceres, Vision of Escaflowne, Natsume Yuujinchou, Kaleido Star, Eden of the East, Real Drive, and a few others ^.^

A seriously exquisite list :)
You HAVE stated "few others" but actually expected to see "Ghost in a shell" as well in there...
I had a collection of Darker than Black from a few years back... and for SOME reason (I really have no valid excuse) I have never watched further than the first episode. I had honestly obtained it through it's name catching my attention for obvious reasons.
But I think I should go through it at some time.

I would like to get my hands on the complete episodes of Karau Phantom Memory someday. It has what I liked in a variety of films collected into one.
Actually it is easy to picture you as Kuarau or Christmas... I think more as Christmas though.
And I guess we are'nt going to be seeing you do one of the most economical costumes of the list there: Lucy (Elfen Lied)

Btw... yes I am liking Fantastic Children more and more.. And yeah Helga is proving to be more sweet than ignorant. I hate how successfully Japanese manage the feel of "ignoring". But it IS in daily life of ignoring someone/thing if they disapprove. In a silent manner to protest it.
My son (I must note that he is three) had instantly said "Oh we watched this" when he had first seen Wanda in the intro. He was referring to "Laputa: Castle in the Sky"... one of his favourate movies(after "Kiki" and "Tonari no Totoro").

Poor child... the things he has to watch because of his father :(
Hey but I watch the night garden memorize MakaPaka's song and do the Upssy Daisy's dance with him too!

I watched, "Fantastic Children," sometime last year on a whim. One of the saddest anime stories I've ever seen. I was depressed for about a week afterwards. Anyway, you did a very good job with the princess costume! You look beautiful!

How did you get/make the crown. I want to cosplay as Tina but I am a little stuck on how to get the crown and wig, which are sorta the most important parts. Well actually I am kinda stuck on the whole costume. Any tips?

P.S.

TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I made the crown out of craft foam and plastic jewels. Coated all the foam in glue, then painted with silver acrylic paint, then sealed with polyurethane. The wig is a 30" long wig that I put into ponytails using clear plastic bands - one at the base of the wig hair and one near the bottom of each ponytail for definition. You can read more here: [link]
